
Meet Dr. Zahra Heidari
Dr. Heidari has been in the field of dentistry for more than 10 years. She obtained her DDS degree with honors from Ajman School of Dentistry in Dubai. She then decided to immigrate to the United States, to continue her education and get her specialty in Orthodontics and maxillofacial orthopedics. Graduating from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Heidari received her Orthodontics Specialty Certificate and Masters in Oral Biology (M.S.). Soon after she became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics ( ABO), a position less than 30% of orthodontists hold.
During her residency, Dr. Heidari participated with the Craniofacial and
Cleft Palate teams at Johns Hopkins University Hospital and Kernan Medical Center.
She also conducted 3 original pieces of research that have been published in prestigious journals of the field.
Dr. Heidari’s interests are in craniofacial growth and development, as well as in the treatment of children and adults with craniofacial abnormalities and sleep apnea.
She enjoys working with all age groups and loves her patients. She believes everyone deserves to have a confident bright smile. She is committed to excellence of care provided to her patients.
Dr. Heidari is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO), and Virginia Association of Orthodontists (VAO).
When she is not in the clinic Dr. Heidari and her husband Dr. Ali Shariati enjoy outdoor activities with their son.
